This is Toro from Blue Surf Adventures Costa Rica Surf School with your Santa Teresa Surf Report for this week. This is the report for Santa Teresa Surf and nearby breaks Playa Hermosa, Playa Carmen and Mal Pais, located in the South Nicoya Peninsula in the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica.
This past week, August 22nd / August 28th, surf was very fun and user friendly in our Santa Teresa Surf School. Wave height ranged the waist to shoulder high size with sets reaching head high at exposed breaks and on favorable conditions. The beach break upfront Blue Surf Sanctuary Santa Teresa Surf School held good surf all week, with some days getting really excellent over the sand bar. Waves were peeling off like a point break on Tuesday, with steep playful walls rolling all the way in from far outside. Weather has been fairly good, with lots of sunshine and lots of strong showers. Some wind picked up at the end of the week and surf was spoiled on Friday.
Monday: S swell filling in and waves ranged on the waist to shoulder high with some bigger sets reaching head high at favorable tides. Conditions were good and the beach break upfront Blue Surf Sanctuary Santa Teresa Surf School, was working very good with lots of fun waves rolling in.
Tuesday: S swell peaked with some sets reaching head high to slightly overhead at standout spots. Clean conditions and lots of fun waves at the beach break upfront Blue Surf Sanctuary Santa Teresa Surf School. The left at the river mouth was working almost like a point break, with long and playful walls rolling from the outside all the way to the shore.
Wednesday: Santa Teresa Surf was good today with waves on the waist to shoulder high range as old swell fades out fast. The beach break upfront Blue Surf Sanctuary Santa Teresa Surf School held good surf all day long as conditions were good all the time.
Thursday: Mix of longer period SW/SSW swell and short period S swell. Waist-shoulder high surf at the better breaks, with some plus sets at standouts to head high. Surf was very good in the morning with clean conditions and lot of fun waves. Conditions held through the day and although a light onshore picked up in the afternoon, surf remained good till sunset.
Friday: Surf was fun in the morning at the beach break upfront Blue Surf Sanctuary Santa Teresa Surf School. Waves were on the waist to shoulder high range and conditions clean. Strong onshore wind picked up in the early afternoon and surf got spoiled. Water got choppy in the afternoon and conditions were messy.
Saturday: Fun surfing in Santa Teresa. Conditions were nice and clean in the morning and a bit messy in the afternoon. Waves were ranging the waist to shoulder high and there were some very good nuggets down at the beach break upfront Blue Surf Sanctuary Santa Teresa Surf School
Sunday: Surf height continued on the waist to shoulder range. New, long period SW swell started filling in all day with some short period swell still mixing in. Slow start with the surf building to waist-shoulder high range at exposures through the afternoon, with sets to head high at top breaks. Clean conditions prevailed throughout the day and we got very fun surf at our Santa Teresa Surf School.
