This is Toro from Blue Surf Adventures Costa Rica Surf School with your Santa Teresa Surf Report for this week. This is the surf report for Santa Teresa and nearby breaks Playa Hermosa, Playa Carmen and Mal Pais, located in the South Nicoya Peninsula in the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica.
This past week, May 22nd / May 28th, surf was smaller than usual. Most of the days we’ve got waist to chest high waves, what was very helpful for our students to improve their skills faster and take a glance of the green waves. Conditions were mostly good, with some messy moments mostly very early in the morning or in the early afternoon. Lots of fun waves came in and everybody had a great time staying at Blue Surf Sanctuary Costa Rica Surf School!
Monday: Overcast gray skies predominated. Glassy clean conditions in the early morning and agfain in the afternoon. Many very fun waves rolled in at the beach break down from Blue Surf Sanctuary Costa Rica Surf School.
Tuesday: Small SSW/SW swell brought very fun and user friendly knee to waist high surf to our beach break. Conditions were nice and clean in the morning. Pouring rain at night.
Wednesday: Small SW swell lingered, and surf was around waist high or so; new SW swell forerunners started to show later in the afternoon with sets in the chest high range. Mostly overcast day with sporadic strong sunshine. Good conditions in Santa Teresa.
Thursday: Waves continued to get smaller and got in the knee to waist high range. There were occasional bigger sets coming in, probably on the waist high range. Conditions were nice and clean and waves were excellent for our students at Blue Surf Adventures Costa Rica Surf School. It was an excellent opportunity for many to graduate from the white water to the green faces.
Friday: Swell slowly started to build and waves reached chest to shoulder high. The sea was a bit messy early but we had clean and nice conditions for the most part of the day. Surf was good at the beach break upfront Blue Surf Sanctuary Costa Rica Surf School.
Saturday: Holding SW swell and waves continued on the chest to shoulder high range. Some bigger sets came in at exposed breaks. We went surfing to Playa Hermosa beach break, where the Blue Surf House Costa Rica Surf School is located. Waves there were fun and opening well. Lots of clean long rides and steep faces at the back where the bigger sets will break.
Sunday: Very good surf in Santa Teresa and at the beach break upfront Blue Surf Sanctuary Costa Rica Surf School. Good conditions, good weather and lots of fun to have out in the waves.
